ABMA (Afowzo B'da Music Awards) 2015 Nominees
Hi everyone, its another year in music (wow its been that long already *sigh) and every year brings with it an array of earth shattering records (from songs I merely stumbled on to Chart topping hits). The point is this annual awards celebrate songs and artists that have caught and held my attention within the past twelve months (... and the fact that I get older and hopefully wiser ever year).
I cant believe this is the sixth edition of this! the driving force is the music. hopefully with this list, you get to listen to artists and songs that you may have missed out on in the past year and you get to know my overall musical sensibilities as far as last year goes. If you've ever gone through previous editions, you know a constant is that I always add new categories; this year is no different as the pop and RandB categories have been split into 2 and a brand new "EP" category has been added to make room for the abundance of dope records iv come across. Enough of all that, check it all out here:
(PS. That's me and the very talented TemiDOLLface, who is also a nominee this year)

New Video: Taylor Swift's "Wildest Dreams"
Taylor Returns with the visuals for the Lana Del Rey inspired "Wildest Dreams". The Joseph Khan directed Video sees Taylor taping on the "Australia" movie (Nicole Kidman & Hugh Jackman) retro feel of the great outback for a cinematic effect that is larger than life.
This is the point where I will say that other Musicians should take a cue from Ms. Swift. Not only is the video brilliant, its also socially relevant in that it displays the vast beauty of wildlife and at the end of the video, it is mentioned that all the proceeds from it will go to helping wildlife. This comes after the American Dentist paid to hunt and kill a Lion a few weeks ago. How would anyone not be drawn to Taylor Swift. Good Music and great promo choices #1989WorldTour
Nicki Minaj vs. MTV vs. Taylor Swft
So I was scrolling through my phone checking out various entertainment stories when this one caught my attention. Honestly when I first saw the VMA nominations, I wasn't phased. I only noticed that Taylor swift and Ed Sheran had a lot of nods; anyway fast forward to yesterday and ...
Album Review: Taylor Swift's "1989"
When Bob Dylan went electric, he didn't stop being Dylan. "Like a Rolling Stone" broke a few barriers in 1965—including the radio-frightening six-minute mark—but the writer behind it remained the same, quick with an elusive metaphor and a sneer. Still, Dylan was 24 then, the age Taylor Swift is now, and he was anxious to ...

Barack Obama Jokes About Jay-Z and Taylor Swift, Walks Out to DJ Khaled
History's most hip-hop commander-in-chief was at it again at last night's White House Correspondents' Dinner. First, Barack Obama walked out with DJ Khaled's "All I Do Is Win" as his introduction song. Coming to the podium, he joked, "How do you like my new entrance music?" He then referenced the extreme right wing pundit (who's also been critical of Beyoncé lately) saying, "Rush Limbaugh warned ...

Justin Timberlake's '20/20' Heading to 950,000-Plus Debut
If another day has gone by, that must mean the sales forecast for Justin Timberlake's blockbuster "The 20/20 Experience" album have grown by at least another 50,000-100,000. Yesterday, industry sources forecast that the pop star's new "The 20/20 Experience" could sell between 950,000 and 975,000 by the close of the tracking week. (Nielsen SoundScan's sales week runs Monday-Sunday each week.). The top 10 of the new Billboard 200 chart, where "20/20" will no doubt be No. 1, will be revealed on Wednesday, March 27.
It's possible that "20/20" could reach a million, but sources are ...

THR Ranks Hollywood's 25 Most Powerful Stylists
With four separate covers featuring Jennifer Lopez, Taylor Swift, Zoe Saldana and Julianne Moore, The Hollywood Reporter's third annual Stylists Issue profiles the town's top tastemakers. This story first appeared in the March 29 issue of The Hollywood Reporter magazine. At this year’s Oscars, a couple of darts stole the little gold man’s thunder. Anne Hathaway’s last-minute wardrobe swap to a pink satin Prada dress that accentuated certain points of her anatomy made her arrival the most-tweeted moment on the red carpet (#LesNipplerables) and got more attention in the days to follow than her supporting actress win. Despite this misstep, stylist Rachel Zoe (No. 3 on THR’s Power Stylist List) landed a win with her other Oscar client, best actress winner Jennifer Lawrence, whose intricate Dior Haute Couture gown wowed viewers (and caused a near face-plant as Lawrence walked up to the stage, though she recovered charmingly). There’s no bigger or more ruthless meritocracy than a red carpet. Looks are instantly tweeted, Instagrammed, Pinterested, Facebooked and blogged as fashion cops and critics millions strong render their verdict on a star’s -- and by extension, her stylist’s -- choices. Having insinuated themselves into the ...

Bruno Mars Scores First No. 1 Album on Billboard 200 Chart
Bruno Mars claims his first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart, as "Unorthodox Jukebox" jumps one slot to the top of the tally. The set, largely fueled by sale pricing by Amazon MP3, sold 95,000 copies in the week ending March 3 -- for a gain of 96% compared to the previous week (according to Nielsen SoundScan). On Tuesday, Feb. 26, the digital retailer offered a bevy of albums for just $1.99, including Mars' latest and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' "The Heist." Discounted sales of "Unorthodox Jukebox" and "The Heist" -- and all of last week's other Amazon MP3 $1.99-priced titles -- count toward their weekly total because the albums have been out for more than four weeks. Billboard doesn't count sales of albums priced below $3.49 in their first four weeks of release. After their one-day $1.99 offering, the price of both "Unorthodox Jukebox" and "The Heist" went up to $3.99 for the rest of the week. (Both are still being sold for $3.99 as of March 5.)
