Deola Sagoe
Deola Sagoe is an haute couture fashion designer from Nigeria. Sagoe began designing in 1998 and has gained international notoriety for her lively and colorful designs. She frequently exhibits her couture collection at fashion week. Earlier in 2010, American fashionistas took notice of Deola Sagoe when she unveiled her 2010 Fall collection at the New York Fashion Week under the auspices of Arise Magazine African Collection. Deola Sagoe rose the audience at the Mercedes Benz 2010 ARISE African collective in New York to a standing ovation. Deola Sagoe showed the “Regalia.” Collection, a military inspired collection that redefined regal attire with a regimental feel as one of the three designers chosen to participate, Deola was the night’s only designer to receive a standing ovation. Her lines have been modeled in major International Beauty Pageants, including the Miss Universe contest, and her fan base include Will Smith, Samuel L. Jackson, Rachel Roy and talk show maven Oprah Winfrey. Deola’s other awards and recognitions include participation in Cape Town Fashion Week, 2003, the Alta Roma Moda Show in Rome 2004, award winner of the Platinum Quality Award at the 10th International Star Awards in Paris, 2006.

Born in Nigeria, Ugonna Nnenna Omeruo grew up in Lagos, Nigeria and studied international relations at Olabisi Onabanjo University Ogun state Nigeria. The label House of Nwocha, was launched in 2007. House of Nwocha offer a selection of styles divided into two groups, one casual wear for everyday use, then weekends and cocktail dresses. Her latest collection will be showcased at this year’s ARISE FASHION WEEK. The collection will be a show of different colors and patterns, impeccable tailoring and finishing. Bright yellow, blue, orange, green, polka dots and spiral detailing for attention on jackets and dresses that are set off by statement-making neckpieces and bracelets.
Gert-Johan. Gert-Johan is one of South Africa’s most loved, well known and respected fashion designers, He is known for his red carpet wears which could be seen at major events, such as the South Africa Music Awards, South Africa Film And Television Awards, the J&B Met. You Spectacular, Huisgenoot Skouspel, the Tempo Awards, and Miss World to name a few. His creations have won the best dressed title at many of these events. He has also dressed many of South African most famous people. There are Esmare Weideman ( Editor in chief of Huisgenoot/You and Drum), Cindy Nell, Liezel Van Der Westhuizen, Lira, Bonang Matheba, Doreen Morris, Basetsana Khumalu e.t.c. This year he earned the title as South Africa Designer of the year, where he was nominated with nine other of his country’s top Designers. In 2011, He made history by being the first South African Designer to have his dresses worn by A list celebrities on the red carpet in Hollywood.

Aisha Obuobi’s Christie Brown
Aisha Obuobi, the Ghanian based creative Director and founding partner of Christie Brown LTD, discovered her passion for fashion at an early age. Thereafter, she started her label while she was still in college at the University of Legon. In 2009 she won the “Emerging designer of the year” at the inaugural arise fashion week in South Africa. She was one of the twenty one “Daring women of 2010” at the African Economic Forum. The international appeal and success of Christie Brown brand has been acknowledged in a number of magazines both locally and internationally.
YVONNE
French born designer, Yvonne Nwosu is the Creative Director behind the fashion line ‘VONNE. Vonneas she is fondly called in the fashion industry is known for her edgy and daring clothes and jackets. With the use of Damask fabrics of which comes from the word Damascus which was sold in 21st century market in Damascus. Her style is unique in every sense and true to her tag line ‘invokes the daring goddess in every woman!’
