Adele, Nicki Minaj & Robbie Williams Take Comic Turn

Not content with owning the biggest selling album of the century and collecting a swag of Grammy Awards, Adele is set to become a comic book character. And she's not alone among pop stars. The British singer, along with Nicki Minaj and Robbie Williams, will all appear in a ...
series of comics, published by Bluewater Comics under the “Fame” banner. The first to hit the rack will be “Fame: Nicki Minaj,” which arrives Feb. 13 in digital and print formats. A street date for the Adele and Robbie Williams titles has yet to be announced. “Fame: Nicki Minaj” is written by Michael Troy and drawn by Jill Lamarina and will be available with separate "standard" and "superhero" covers -- one inked by artist Lamarina and the other by Jonathan Woodard. Comic Flea Market is exclusively selling the print version of “Fame: Nicki Minaj” for $3.99, while digital copies will be widely available for $1.99.
Bluewater Comics produces three lines of biography comics: Female Force, Political Power and “Fame.” According to a spokesperson for the independent publisher, each line has produced editions that have sold out of their original runs in what is a tricky time for the comic-book business.
It's not the first time Bluewater has turned to pop singers. The likes of Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Nick Jonas all have their own "Fame" comics titles.
