Jennifer Lopez Combats Engagement Rumors With Her 2002 Hit

Some stars battle wild rumors through their reps, others choose to completely ignore them. Jennifer Lopez opens up her own archives.
The singer posted lyrics from her 2002 hit "Jenny from the Block" to cleverly deny she and boyfriend of seven months, Casper Smart, are engaged. "Rumors!!! ...
Don't be fooled by the rocks that I got," she wrote on her website, alongside a picture showing her in a sexy white dress with a naked ring finger.
The lyrics are appropriate for the situation and, perhaps inadvertently, show that she's learned marrying a back-up dancer boyfriend of seven months isn't the best idea. Back when that song came out she was in the process of divorcing her first backup dancer, Cris Judd. The two got married in September 2001 after seven months of dating. By June of the next year, they had called it quits and Lopez was in the process of moving on with Ben Affleck.
Hopefully the singer will give it at least seven more months before embarking on her fourth marriage...
