JLO May Not Be Returning To American Idol

Jennifer Lopez stopped by "Ellen" on Tuesday (May 15), promoting "What to Expect When You're Expecting" with her co-star Cameron Diaz. In between conversations about girl fights and adopting, the "American Idol" judge mentioned that she might not be returning for a third season on the Fox reality show. (see more)

"I really do enjoy it," she started, after telling Ellen DeGeneres that she didn't know what the future of "Idol" would hold. "Now this is my second year -- I don't know if I can go for a third year. I miss doing other things. It really does lock you down, which was nice the first year with the babies being three, but now they're getting more mobile, they're about to go into school… So I just don't know."
When Lopez signed on for the "Idol's" tenth season in 2010, she and Steven Tyler filled holes left by former judges Simon Cowell and Ellen DeGeneres. The Latina superstar reportedly nets $12 million per season, which is $2 million more than Christina Aguilera makes for NBC's "The Voice" and $3 million less than what Britney Spears will reportedly earn for her first run as an "X Factor" judge this fall.
The season 11 "Idol" premiere in January saw a steep ratings drop over the previous year, despite netting 21.93 million viewers.
