Rihanna Vs. Ciara: Clash of the Songstresses

when i first heared about this, i chuckled then it hit me "WTF"!
it all started with Ciara guest judging on E's! fashion police with Joan Rivers. When a picture of Rihanna came up, ciara said some stuff was up between them cause rihanna kinda flipped her at snubbed her at an event but that there was no beef. So Rihanna in "pissed off" mode, took to twitter and the war of twitts began and what caught my attention was when Rihanna took a shot at Ciara's career!

Ladies why all the bikkering? is this really necessary> Ciara, why the hell would u choose a show on E! to broadcast your beef and Rihanna< why would you retaliate and say such nasty stuff.  Love you both but seriously babes, get a grip and collaborate, not dissunitate!!!! lol

Two Sides of the Style Spectrum: Alexander Amosu & Nneka on the cover of the February 2011 issue of Complete Fashion Magazine

They represent two opposite sides of the style spectrum.Luxury sector entrepreneur Alexander Amosu represents all things luxurious – the “million dollar suit”, the blinged out golden phones, the special edition diamond watches…. Musician and activist Nneka keeps it simple when it comes to her personal style. She will proudly rock a dress picked up from a market in Warri, that’s just her. However, what is really great is that they are both true to themselves and are definitely “on top of their game” in their respective careers.Check out the cover and pages from Nneka and Alexander Amosu’s cover features in the February edition of Complete Fashion Magazine

"Bimpe" by Asha (a lyrical indepth from Bella 9ja)

Bimpe is an upbeat song, one of the numerous songs on the album that make you want to dance, shoulder-high, and snap your fingers on the street. A playful, yet serious number, it is an indirect warning to a sister-in-law who meddles just too much in the dealings of her elder brother’s wife’s matters. It brings to the fore, the intricacies and dynamics of the role played by in-laws in the life of a young wife in the Yoruba culture. Also highlighted is the complexity of the human nature; how people seem to be overtly interested in what you do with your life when they hardly have theirs in check. Here goes:

Bimpe n ba mi wi (Bimpe’s scolding me)

O f’owo si’nu business mi (she meddles in my affairs)

Emi ire ko l’egbe/ o kan s’aju mi bimo ni (we’re not mates, you only gave birth before me)

Mo gbo n’pe on mo mi loju (I hear you eye me with disdain)

O l’anu gboa ni’pa business mi (You talk recklessly about my business)

Oro emi ire ko l’eni (Our quarrel’s not for today)

Egbon re n fe mi ni (It’s just because your brother’s my husband)

The narrator is presumably a young wife who is subjected to embarrassment by her in-laws, especially, Bimpe, her sister-in-law (her husband’s younger sibling) who meddles in the young wife’s affairs. Young Wife complains, but in the Yoruba culture, you ought to respect your siblings-in-law and refer to them like they were much older than you, even if you are a decade older. Young Wife gets wind that Bimpe’s talking recklessly about her private matters, but she does not confront the suspect openly. The reason? She’s married to Bimpe’s brother!

Egbon re t’on fe mi lowo ni o (it’s your brother who’s currently married to me)

Mo ti ya fun ooo/ egbon re, egbon re ha! (I respect him – your brother; your brother ha!)

E ba mi so fun baby yen/ fun baby yen (Help me tell that babe, that babe)

T’o wole yen (that just entered the room)

E ba n kilo fun/ e kilo fun, yeah (Help me warn her, warn her…)

E ba mi so fun sisi yen (Help me tell that lady)

fun sisi yen to kun atike (that lady who has painted her face with talcum)

E ba n kilo fun/ e kilo fun, yeah (Help me warn her/ warn her, yeah)

Soft electric piano sound rises to underscore the feeling of endearment and sentiment as Young Wife recalls that she’s is married to Bimpe’s elder brother. But the bitterness continues to grow as the narrator refers to her ‘tormentor’ in the ‘third person’ – a rather distant and somewhat disregarding way to address your relatives. She taps into the power of description to emphasize some of Bimpe’s idiosyncrasies, like ‘plastering’ her face with talcum. In fact, this hints, albeit in a subtle way, that Bimpe is more-or-less lacking in education, exposure, fashion and lifestyle.

Bimpe ri mi fin (Bimpe is disrespecting me)

O wu wa omo lai si imoye (she behaved without understanding)

Mo ronu p’iwa da / omo inu mi l’on ba mi wi (I repent, ‘cos it’s someone much younger that’s chiding me)

Ile ana more l’Oyo/ won kunkun je m sinmi… (When I even visited my in-laws in Oyo State, they never even let me rest)

Ire o l’aponle/ o de fe ki eyan fe e sile (You’re not worth the respect, and you want someone to marry you into his home?)

She ups the ante here, still fussing over Bimpe’s disrespect, insisting that the accused lacks understanding. She tries to overlook the offense because she deems herself much older, but still recounts how her in-laws did not let her rest but torment her the last time she visited them in their home town in Oyo State. “(Bimpe), you are not worthy of respect and lack dignity, but you want some man to marry you into his home?” Perhaps Bimpe is even a single mother, estranged from her husband… Asa sings the chorus all over again and gives in to a synthesized interlude which helps dissipate some pent-up anger. The music is loud and defiant, making an angry statement. Then she runs through the final round of lamentation with the soothing electric piano (EP) sound leading her in…

Egbon re ton fe mi lowo ni o (it’s your brother who’s marrying me)

Mo ti ya fun ooo/ egbon re, egbon re ha! (I respect him, your brother, your brother ew!)

E ba mi so fun baby yen/ fun baby yen/ t’o wole yen (Help me tell that babe, that babe that just entered)

E ba n kilo fun/ e kilo fun, yeah… (Help me warn her, warn her…)

E ba mi so fun baby yen/ to gb’omo pon (Help me tell that lady with a baby straddled to her back)

T’o kun atike/ e ba n kilo fun/ e soro fun, yeah (talcum on her face, help me warn her, tell her!)

E bami so fun baby yen ko fo s’oke/ k’o fi mi’le (Help me tell that lady to jump up, and let me be)

Tio ba wo k’o la’ri mo’le (If she doesn’t like, she should split her own head on the floor)

E ba mi kilo fun/ ekilo fun (Help me warn her, warn her!)

E ba mi so fun baby yen k’o fo s’oke (Help me tell that lady to jump up)

K’o fi mi’le, k’o rin lo Offa (She should leave me alone, and trek to Offa –an ancient town in Kwara State)

E ba n ki’lo fun, e s’oro fun (Help me warn her, talk to her!)

Young Wife’s infuriation makes her say a lot more bitter things as she ends up asking Bimpe to take a long walk all the way to Offa town.
This song rocks and if not for this i would have the least idea of what it means (ashamed i cant speak my language).

Kate Middleton Wears a Royal Fascinator (We Have Ouselves A Fashion Icon in the making)

Leave it to Kate Middleton to make her accessories as talked about as she is. The hat-loving future princess wore another distinctive topper to her Anglesey appearance on Thursday, and this one was made especially for her. The velvet and feather beret was designed by Vivien Sheriff Millinery, a small company based in rural Wiltshire which makes all of their hats by hand. And the design team was just as delighted to see the piece atop Kate's head as anyone.

Who Should Be Paired Up for the Remake of The Bodyguard?

Can anyone fill Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner's shoes? That's the question Warner Brothers is asking as it prepares to remake The Bodyguard, the runaway 1992 hit about a Secret Service agent drafted to protect a singing diva who's being hunted by a stalker. The story will change slightly for the remake, with the agent now being an Iraq war veteran who gets the bodyguard job shortly after leaving the service. But the challenge is the same – finding two lead actors with the chemistry to make it work. Who Do you think can pull it off: the singing, action sequences and all. My guess is a s good as yours!

Catherine Zeta-Jones Gets U.K. Honor – But Don't Call Her 'Dame!'

Jennifer Lopez Explains Crying Over Idol Contestant's Departure

Jennifer Lopez has a simple explanation for her emotional breakdown on Wednesday's American Idol: She was just being herself.

"This is all new to me," the judge explained to Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS-FM radio show Thursday. "I'm used to having a script in a movie, or a big performance with a cane and a microphone, and I have all kinds of stuff going on ... You're [not always] getting me."
Lopez explained that Idol lets the world see the real Jennifer. "This is the first experience ... where I feel like people are getting to know who I am as a person," she said. "It's such a vulnerable place to be."  Sha dont do more than that! we love you JLO! cant wait for the video of "On The Floor"

Who is Skyler Grey?

im sure you'v heared Diddy-Dirty-Money's "Comming Home" and the more popular "Love the way you lie" by Eminem featuring our very own Rhiri. i bet your wondering, what does these songs have to do with this white beautiful woman. well imma tell ya! She rote the hooks for those songs and im sure you would not have recognized her performing with Eminem and Dr. Dre at the Grammy's Two weeks ago. Well thats kinda the point. When the whole point ol Lady Gaga is to blow up in your face constantly, Skyler opt for the direct opposite. She is also kown as Holly Brooks and isn't nu to the industry atall. While Skylar Grey might be making her first forays into recording, singing the hook for the soon to be released Dr. Dre single, "I Need A Doctor," and putting the finishing touches on an album under the guidance of super producer Alex Da Kid, this isn't her first rodeo. Grey released a few records under the name Holly Brook, including the 2006 album Like Blood Honey.  Linkin Park, that is. When she moved to Los Angeles in 2003, Grey caught on with Linkin Park, signing to their Machine Shop Recordings label and singing on a few Fort Minor (the side project of Linkin MC Mike Shinoda) tracks
Not knowing who Skylar Grey is seems like part of Skylar Grey's master plan. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Grey stated, "“My whole roll-out as Skylar Grey has been this mysterious being." That explains why her website is simply a series of Flash images and why she was shrouded in darkness during her Grammy performance. Before she was writing melancholy hooks for Dre and Slim Shady, Skylar was making music with her mom in a folk duo named Generations. She's one girl you all are going to look out for this year. Listen to "I Need A Doctor" by Dr.Dre featuring her and Eminem

Jazmine Sullivan's "Love Me Back"

this is too much to even talk about because i feel so bad that such a great work of art is being put on hold for the main time so she can figure out some stuff. Love Me Back rocks in all kinds of ways that now i listen  to it from begining to end and then some and im not tired at all.
The songs are so strong yet you see her vulnarebility shine tru and that voice! OMG what a classy chick/woman/diva/girl because she lets you in on her tru all these identities.
Songs like "Love You Long Time" and "Famous" profeses her true and undoubted love for her partner while songs like "U Get On My Nerves" (a duet with Ne-Yo) (part 2 of burst your windows) and the soul kicking "10 Seconds" gives off this i-dont-care-if-u-die air that is both sad and freeing all at the same time. "Redemption" is a rap/sung song that could be a gospel number cause it does loads of inspirational ish to you and "Excuse Me" is this old school mid tempo introductory love letter to her new love interest (loads of simple words that describes heaven)
finally, the Los da Mystro produced "Don't Make Me Wait" is this ode to the 80's and to a group called "Vanity 6". the song is about times when u just wana get it on without all the love ish involved
Im totally impressed with this work of art so Jazmine, please promote this cause if you do, you'd give diva's like Alicia and Chrisette a run for their money! love ya loads

Keri Hilsons Nu Single

Are u serious?! jus when i thought Keri was making the right decisions and doing us proud, she had to take a turn for .... well not to jinqs it but im totally not for it and im really dissapointed that with an album that houses so many sweet songs, she'd pick the one i cant stand (no offence to you both). Aretha Reaches Out To Fantasia

first of all, give it a rest Fantasia, u got your first grammy and a No2 album all from the suiside attempt and hassels of last year and i dont blame you for feeling left out but for God sakes, there r much more important things than perorming at the grammy's (cant believe i just said that) but its true.
Aretha, on the issue, had this to say
"I was sorry to hear that Fantasia was upset because she did not get the opportunity to participate in my Grammy Tribute this year. I recall that in the past, Fantasia participated in both my MusicCares Person of the Year Tribute and my United Negro College Fund Tribute. Fantasia is still young in the business and although we all love and appreciate her she must understand that in this business of show business she will not always get to participate in everything she would like participate in. I'm sure it was not an intentional omission. I will see Fantasia over the summer here in Detroit."
yall have heared it from the horses mouth. u cant do and be everything and everywhere at the same time, just be yyou and the rest will fall into place
p.s. dont try to commit suicide over this (just kidding)

Banky W Debut's Nu Video

i wont lie, at the moment im not really feeling bro Banky (maybe its because he seldom snubs me on twitter or maybe its because alot of my friends say he's a snub) and i dont know why he is still fully promoting an album that came out 2 yrs ago hey! but what do i know!?! right im sure theres a good explanation for that and as for this video "Follow You Go", its a great job well done. A beautiful Tease video that has cameos from three beautiful ladies; Munachi, Goldie and Beverly Naya and shows the lips of a radio presenter (rurrr! lol); the video was directed by the talented Kemi Adetiba and shot entirely in Lagos.

the video is good and i hope theres a nu album in the works Banky!

Lady Gaga Breaks records

and i kind of saw it commin but not so much, so soon!
Everybody knows that Gaga has released her nu song "Born This Way" about two weeks ago and ever since the release and subsiquent Grammy performance, of the song, it has debuted on the top of every music chart all over the globe then the critics said that the song was a rip off of Madonna's "Express Yourself" and she replied that she adores Madonna and any comparism was an achievement for her [Madonna's people sent their love and support].
Now to further shut the mouth's of all the haters, the song is the fastest selling song in the year 2011, going platinum in a week. GaGa's Born This Way continued its reign at #1 for the second week in a row, selling 509,000 tracks, which is a 14% increase from the first week's sales. its also the only song ever to sell so fast
The video will premiere online this Monday, February 28th at 11:00 AM Eastern/8:00 AM Pacific and its not going to be 1 video but 2 videos so watch out cause Gaga is gonna rule 2011

Bruno Marz & Janelle M.Going on Tour Together

Its Official! The Tour is Titled "Hooligands in Wonderland" and from the Grammy Performance, its easy to tell that this tour is Gonna Rock!!!

Katy Perry Debuts Nu Single

Even though she didn't get a grammy this year (which i think is unbelievable and down right stupid considering that she owned last year in music globally), theres good news for we die-hard-Katy-Perry fans. she has finally chosen btw "Peecock" and "E.T. which would be her next single and its the Alian-Tingled "E.T." which i love but im curious to find out what the video would look like. The single version and music video will feature American rapper Kanye West (Hmn! my thoughts are watering already). Peace
