Amy Winehouse Tops U.K. Album Chart; Cher Lloyd's Single Has 'Swagger'

Amy Winehouse continued her posthumous reign on the new U.K. album chart, published Sunday (Aug. 7) by the Official Charts Company. "Back To Black" (Universal Island) achieved a second week at No. 1 since her death, in addition to the ...
three it registered in 2007. Former "X Factor" contestant Cher Lloyd debuted atop the singles chart with her first release "Swagger Jagger" (Syco Music/Sony Music Entertainment).
"Back To Black" sold 63,000 units to stay well ahead of Adele's "21" (XL Recordings) which held at No. 2 on 35,000, as Winehouse's previous, debut album "Frank" rose 5-3, with 19,000 new sales. Adele's "19" stayed at No. 4 as Beyoncé fell 3-5 with "4" (Columbia/Sony Music Entertainment). Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" (Interscope/Universal) improved 7-6 and Chase & Status moved 9-7 with "No More Idols" (Mercury/Universal).
Pitbull's "Planet Pit" (J/Sony Music Entertainment), which debuted at No. 18 last month, reappeared on the top 75 at No. 14 and Nicki Minaj's "Pink Friday" (Cash Money/Universal Island) rose 31-16 as her single "Super Bass" improved 10-8. "Now! That's What I Call Music 79" (EMI/Virgin/UMTV) started a second week atop the compilation chart.
Cher Lloyd, a finalist in the 2010 season of "X Factor," has spent her time since working on a debut album for Syco Music that's due in November. "Swagger Jagger" opened at No. 1, selling 66,000 according to the OCC, to push last week's top debutants JLS down to No. 2 with "She Makes Me Wanna" (Epic/Sony Music Entertainment). The previous bestseller, The Wanted's "Glad You Came" (Geffen/Universal), fell again to No. 3.
There were two fast risers inside the top ten, as "Little Bad Girl" (Positiva/Virgin/EMI) by David Guetta featuring Taio Cruz and Ludacris raced 13-6 and "Down With The Trumpets" (Universal Island) by London hip-hop duo Rizzle Kicks 20-9. RIP Amy
