After breaking out as a solo artist with elaborate videos for "Just the Way You Are" and "Grenade," Bruno Mars appropriately dials back with the help of some monkey-masked companions in the clip for his latest single, "The Lazy Single," which premiered ...
yesterday (Apr. 14).The single-take video finds Mars hanging out in a living room with five dancers, who all sport monkey masks as well as Mars' signature black shades and flannel shirt. As Mars sings his ode to an off-day, the pop star and his simian buddies perform boy band-esque dance moves, make room for a brief cameo by Mars' production partner Philip Lawrence, and drop their pants when Mars sings, "I'll just strut in my birthday suit/and let everything hang loose!" The clip ends with Mars showering his boxer-clad pals in yellow confetti and striking a pose for the camera.
Expectations are certainly high for "The Lazy Song," which climbs to No. 20 on this week's Hot 100: "Just the Way You Are" and "Grenade," Mars' first two singles, both went to No. 1 on the chart, pushing sales of debut album "Doo-Wops and Hooligans" to 905,000, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The singer's joint tour with Janelle Monae is set to kick off May 4 in New York. will get the video to yall when i can!
